Texas League

SPRINGDALE -- Six days ago, Arkansas Travelers pitcher Michael Brady had one of his worst outings of the year in a 10-4 loss to Northwest Arkansas that saw the Naturals record 11 hits and eight runs in five innings off the right-hander.

Brady overcame two Northwest Arkansas triples and two runs in the second inning and gave up just two hits over the next five innings as Arkansas defeated the Naturals 4-2 before an announced crowd of 3,041 in Arvest Ballpark.

Brady gave up 6 hits and struck out 7 without a walk in 7 innings.

"Brady had our number tonight," Naturals Manager Vance Wilson said. "We took it to Brady last time, and that is what is funny about this league when you play them so many times. We didn't have much offense, and we couldn't get a rally."

Arkansas tied the game at 2-2 on a two-run home run by Michael Snyder in the fourth inning and then they added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to rally for the victory. The Travelers also took advantage of eight walks from three Naturals pitchers.

The Naturals' first three hits went for extra bases, and back-to-back triples by Alex Liddi and Hunter Dozier to start the second inning allowed Northwest Arkansas to take a 2-0 lead. Dozier, who hit his first triple of the year, scored on a groundout by Bubba Starling.

The Naturals only managed two singles and a double in their last seven-at bats.

Naturals shortstop Raul Mondesi hit a one-out double in the first inning and then quickly stole third base. But the Naturals' rally ended when Arkansas right fielder Cal Towey caught Lane Adams' fly ball and then threw out Mondesi with a one-hop throw to catcher Raywilly Gomez.

Northwest Arkansas was 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position. The Naturals had runners at first and second when the game ended.

Naturals starter Luke Farrell didn't figure in the decision, leaving after 5 2/3 innings and the game tied at 2-2. He gave up 5 hits and 2 runs, striking out 5 and walking 5.
