Travs take down Drillers again

The Arkansas Travelers answered a big inning with one of their own to win their third consecutive game Sunday.

All four of the Travs' sixth-inning runs were unearned and they came after the Springfield Cardinals scored four runs in the fifth inning of the Travs' 8-6 victory at Hammons Field in Springfield, Mo.

The Travs clubbed 13 hits, including Wade Hinkle's second home run of the season in the fourth inning, and Chad Hinshaw hit two doubles and Brian Hernandez also doubled.

It all prevented Kyle McGowin from taking a loss after giving up 6 runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings. Eduard Santos, Danny Reynolds and Trevor Gott held the Cardinals scoreless over the final 4 1/3 innings.

NATURALS 10, DRILLERS 5

Playing to avoid a four-game sweep, Liddi hit a two-run home run in the third, and another homer in the fifth. Liddi singled in the seventh and hit an RBI double in the eighth as he finished 4 for 6 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored to increase his average to .224.
