WHAT: Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits

STATS: Vary slightly by flavor. One pack (each holds four biscuits) contains about 230 calories and 9 fat, 34 carbohydrate, 4 fiber and 5 protein grams. Sold in boxes of five. Visit postfoods.com.

THE SKINNY: "Breakfast biscuits" used to mean only one thing: fluffy, bready things you'd eat with peppery white gravy.

But lately "breakfast biscuits" also refers to thin cookie-like biscuits, as popularized by BelVita and Nature Valley. And Honey Bunches of Oats just joined the shelf with its biscuits, available in three flavors: Honey Roasted, Chocolate Chip and (a first for this category) Strawberry.

They're convenient if not the most filling of morning meals (in my case, they make my stomach growl more than not eating breakfast at all).

The Honey Bunches of Oats product is so similar in presentation, taste and stats to BelVita and Nature Valley that I say buy whichever flavor most appeals. Or whichever one is on sale.
