Man killed, 2 hurt in 2-vehicle wreck

A West Memphis man died Saturday morning in a two-vehicle wreck in Cross County, Arkansas State Police said.

Keene Sykes, 24, of West Memphis was driving a 2006 Lexus ES east on U.S. 64 when he lost control of the car on a curve and entered the westbound lane of the highway, state police said. A 2012 Chevrolet traveling west on U.S. 64 then struck his car.

The wreck occurred at 6:51 a.m. Saturday east of Wynne, state police reported.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Kay Bennett, 20, of Batesville was injured in the crash, state police said. A passenger in the Chevrolet, Ken Fryman, 41, of Batesville also was injured.

The injured were transported to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro and Regional Medical Center in Memphis. The report doesn't specify which patient went to which hospital.

Conditions were cloudy and the road was wet at the time of the collision, state police reported.
