A player with a unique name and unique talent will be on hand to check out Arkansas' Red-White football game on Saturday.
Plano (Texas) East wide receiver Adewale Omotosho (6-foot-4, 190 pounds, 4.4 seconds 40-yards), a three-star prospect per Scout.com, will be making his second trip to Fayetteville.
His first visit was to see Arkansas' 14-13 loss to Alabama last Oct. 11.
"I can honestly say that was the most intense sporting event that I have ever been at live," Omotosho said. "That game was crazy. It was just awesome with so much electricity. I really thought Arkansas was going to win that game, but it ended up just having a couple of mistakes. What it did show me was how close they are to being back there at the top."
Omotosho caught 31 passes for 582 yards and four touchdowns last season.
He has offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, SMU, Iowa, Duke, Washington, Boston College, Kansas, Navy, Texas State and Arkansas State, who gave him his first offer.
"I've had the chance to see Arkansas, TCU, Baylor, SMU and Oklahoma State so far," he said. "I'm excited to get back up there to Arkansas and check it out again."
Arkansas, which won three of its last four games and whipped Texas 31-7 in a bowl game to finish 7-6, has what Omotosho is looking for both on and off the field.
"I'm going to major in business and Arkansas has one of the best business schools there is," he said. "Combine that with what they are getting done on the football field now and that makes it a great situation. You can see what they are doing on the field with the success they had at the end of the season. I think it is only the beginning."
Omotosho's chief recruiter for Arkansas is running backs coach Jemal Singleton, who arrived from Oklahoma State this winter.
"He wasn't the one recruiting me for Oklahoma State, but I have been talking to him a lot since he got to Arkansas and I am really impressed with him," Omotosho said. "There's just a lot overall to be excited about with Arkansas. One of the things about Arkansas is the opportunity for early playing time that is there. There are looking for some guys to come in and help stretch the field and make plays."
Omotosho doesn't rule out an early decision, but that is not his plan at the present time.
"I will probably wait until after my season to make a decision," he said. "That's kind of what I am looking to do at this point."
Plano East finished just 1-9 last season in its first season under new coach Joey McCullough, but Omotosho sees a much better season his senior year.
"We had a lot of things happening off the field, but we have a very successful head coach in Joey McCullough and got some guys that are coming back next season," Omotosho said. "I'm really excited about what we have going."
