Students to fish for crappie

Kids Fishing and Education will host a crappie tournament for high school students Sunday at Beaver Lake. The event is open to students in 9th through 12th grades. There is no entry fee. Students fish for scholarships and prizes. Registration begins at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at the Northwest Arkansas Mall. Fishing is from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students must have a boat driver who is 19 or older. A parent or guardian must sign a waiver. For details call Michael Vallentine, 660-351-6960.

Squadron to teach sailing course

Beaver Lake Sail and Power Squadron will host a learn-tosail class starting May 2. The class includes classroom work and lessons on the water. No previous sailing experience is needed. To register or for information contact Susan Unger at 479-643-2282 or [email protected].

Quail group sets banquet

The 26th annual Benton County Quail fundraiser banquet starts at 5 p.m., May 4 at the Benton County Quail barn 5 miles west of Bentonville on Arkansas 72.

The event will feature catfish and barbecue, trap shooting, prize drawings and auctions.

Guys, gals to fish Table Rock

Wayne and Linda Dirck won the Beaver Lake Guys and Gals bass tournament held at Table Rock Lake on Saturday. They had six bass that weighed 13.48 pounds.

Frank Ralph and Kim Dunn placed second with six bass at 13 pounds. Peyton Rose and Lexie Bradrick were third with five bass at 10.02 pounds.
