15 more seek top position at ASU-merged campus

An impending Arkansas State University campus has an additional 15 candidates vying for the chancellor’s position, according to documents released Friday.

There are 54 candidates so far for the position at Mid-South Community College in West Memphis. The search comes as the 1,895-student college is merging with the ASU System. Under the merger, the current president’s position will turn into a chancellor’s post.

The college’s current president, Glen Fenter, is leaving to lead the Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce, a new program that connects industry leaders in the Delta with programs at educational institutions to produce a skilled industrial workforce.

Fenter, 55, has headed the college since its inception in 1992.

The new applicants and their current positions, according to the ASU System, are:

Ann Bolman of Magnolia, Texas, vice president of campus services at Lone Star College-Montgomery in Texas.

Jeremy Brown of Lake Oswego, Ore., president of Portland Community College.

Timothy Cornelius of Fort Smith, vice president for learning: global business, health professions, external programs and adult basic education at Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville. Cornelius was a finalist for the chancellor’s position at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Gerard d’Entremont of Nova Scotia, Canada, manager of business development at Nova Scotia Community College.

Rodney Ellis of Alexandria, La., former chancellor of Central Louisiana Technical and Community College.

Brian Ellison of San Diego, Calif., vice president of instruction and student services at San Diego Continuing Education.

Bruce Exstrom of Garden City, Kan., vice president of instructional services at Garden City Community College.

Cynthia Griffith of Cypress, Texas, former vice president for instruction at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas.

Wayne Hatcher of Pocahontas, former president of Black River Technical College and current president of WH Consultants, an education consulting firm.

Jana Holwick, a higher-education consultant for EdStrategy and a former vice president for academic affairs of Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio.

Keith McClanahan of Searcy, director of the division of advanced technology and allied health at Arkansas State University in Beebe.

Hasan Naima of Overland Park, Kan., president of the business and technology campus at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Mo.

Harold Nolte of Brenham, Texas, former district president of Blinn College in Brenham.

Alan Punches of Zanesville, Ohio, associate campus dean at Ohio University-Zanesville.

Darrylinn Todd of Chicago, an associate partner at Business Solutions Consultants, a management leadership firm; an adjunct professor at North Park University; and a former vice president of academic and student affairs for the Malcolm X College at the City Colleges of Chicago.
