Quarterback Cole Kelley of Lafayette (La.) Teurlings Catholic became Arkansas' fifth oral commitment for the 2016 class Saturday after telling Coach Bret Bielema he wanted to be a Razorback.

Kelley and his mother, Sheri, visited the Arkansas on Friday and Saturday.

"I came up here not really planning on committing this weekend," Kelley said "I saw how nice everybody was and I had a good feeling in my gut. I would like to go ahead and get it out of the way because there's no point in procrastinating. I just wanted to be here."

Kelley, 6-7, 240 pounds, chose the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Colorado State, Tulane, Southern Miss and others.

He said the coaches and the support staff at Arkansas won him over.

"Everybody is real with you and down-to-earth," he said. "They're just good, down-to-earth people."

Kelley completed 198 of 368 passes for 3,001 yards and 31 touchdowns with 9 interceptions this past season.

"I was even surprised," Kelley said of his commitment. "I knew as soon as I walked in this is where I needed to be and where I was supposed to be, so I went ahead and did it."

Receivers coach Michael Smith, who recruits Louisiana, got a commitment from highly regarded defensive lineman Briston Guidry of Denham Springs, La., last weekend. He and offensive coordinator Dan Enos double-teamed Kelley during the recruiting process.

"He's very creative with what he does offensively," Kelley said of Enos. "He likes to take risks, and you don't see that very often ."

Oral commitments are nonbinding.
