ROGERS -- Pitcher Haylee Zimmerman has already set two school records at Rogers High, and the Lady Mounties softball player will look to continue that success in college.

Zimmerman signed with Oklahoma Baptist Friday before friends and family at Rogers.

"When I stepped on campus last December for a hitting camp, I just fell in love with everything about the school," Zimmerman said. "It's definitely going to be a higher level, and it is going to be a lot of work. But it is going to be fun."

Zimmerman currently ranks first in career wins (51) and strikeouts (287) as a four-year starter for the Lady Mounties. She is batting .353 this season and is 7-2 on the mound for a Rogers team that is 16-3 overall and 8-0 in the 7A-West Conference.

As a freshman, Zimmerman was 15-11 in the circle while batting .318 with 23 RBIs. Her sophomore season, Zimmerman was 16-8 with a 2.42 ERA as Rogers ended the season with a loss to North Little Rock in the Class 7A State Championship Game.

Last season, Zimmerman was 13-9, and she batted .382 with 24 RBIs as the Lady Mounties again advanced to the Class 7A State Tournament.

"Haylee has been a very good player for us," said Rogers coach Mike Harper. "She has probably put in more time and effort than any other player in our program to improve her skill set as a pitcher and a hitter."
