Van Horn wins 500th game at Arkansas

— Arkansas won its second consecutive SEC series Sunday, beating Auburn 6-4 at Plainsman Park.

The Razorbacks scored four runs over the final two innings and stranded the Tigers with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning. The win was Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn's 500th win in 13 seasons with the Razorbacks.

Arkansas (16-15, 5-7 SEC) took the lead with a pair of runs in the eighth inning. Carson Shaddy tied the game with an RBI double and Shaddy scored on a two-out single by Joe Serrano to give the Razorbacks the lead.

Tucker Pennell extended Arkansas' lead to 6-3 in the top of the ninth inning with a two-out single with the bases loaded. Auburn scored a run in the bottom of the ninth, but Zach Jackson struck out Melvin Gray with the bases loaded to end the game.

Auburn (19-13, 4-8) scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead, but Arkansas tied the game on Andrew Benintendi's two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning. Both teams had 11 hits, but the Razorbacks stranded 13 base runners and the Tigers stranded 12.

Keaton McKinney pitched 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision for Arkansas. Jackson Lowery earned the win by pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief, and Jackson recorded his second save of the series.

The Razorbacks will host Mississippi Valley State twice in the coming midweek before welcoming Kentucky for a three-game SEC series beginning next Friday.
