ARKANSAS STATE 12, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI ST. 10

Arkansas State (12-14) rallied from a six-run deficit and held on to beat Southeast Missouri State (17-11) in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau, Mo. ASU took a 7-6 lead in the fifth inning on Joe Schrimpf’s three-run home run. The Red Wolves scored three runs in the top of the sixth for an 11-7 lead and made it 12-10 in the seventh inning on Matt Burgess’ home run.

Schrimpf went 2 for 4 to lead the Red Wolves offensively. Daltan Lovell also had two hits.

Chandler Hawkins (2-5) allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 3 innings of relief for ASU.

STEPHEN F. AUSTIN 8, UALR 0

UALR (10-14) mustered six hits in a loss to Stephen F. Austin (10-19) in a nonconference game at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock.

The Lumberjacks scored three runs in the first, three in the sixth and two in the ninth inning.

Ryan Scott, Sam Vogel, Kyle Kirk, Mitchell Scheuler, Kyle Barret and Joseph Paulino each had a hit for the Trojans.

Matthew Dickey led Stephen F. Austin offensively, going 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Cameron Salvaggio went 3 for 5.

SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE

OKLAHOMA 7, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 0

Central Arkansas (14-9) committed three errors and stranded nine runners in a nonconference loss to Oklahoma (19-12) at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman, Okla.

The Sooners scored three runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 6-0 lead and held the Bears to five hits. Kolbey Carpenter and Chris Shaw hit home runs for Oklahoma.

Brad Dillenberger went 2 for 4 to lead UCA. Corey Herndon allowed 5 hits and 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings in his first start. Oklahoma starter Adam Choplick allowed 3 hits and struck out 10 in 6 innings. UCA struck out 14 times.
