ROGERS -- Springdale Har-Ber put together some offense in the second half and defeated Rogers Heritage 3-0 Tuesday in 7A-West Conference soccer action at Gates Stadium.

Senior midfielder Rolando Sidon broke a scoreless tie when he shot into the Heritage net with 24 minutes, 54 seconds left in the game. Sidon and Anthony Caldera then assisted on a goal by Jimmy Araujo to give Har-Ber a 2-0 lead with 14:37 to play.

Raul Umana added a late goal and goalie Fredy Quijada preserved the shutout to give Har-Ber (3-2, 2-1) momentum heading into Friday's home game with Rogers High.

"When we play quick and keep the ball moving, we can cause some teams problems," Har-Ber coach Cory Butler said. "Rolando is our senior captain ,and he's the one that gets our team going."

Har-Ber's second goal involved unselfish play and good footwork by Sidon and Caldera, who set Ramirez up with an open opportunity in front of the net. Sidon had a scoring opportunity in the first half but shot wide on a rush from the right side. He didn't miss in the second half when he took a pass at midfield and shot straight away into the net from about 20 yards.

Har-Ber started slow and finished fast against the Lady War Eagles.

Evie Cannon scored two goals for the Lady Wildcats (4-2, 2-1), who scored three of their four goals in the second half.

"The girls did a good job of staying composed and finding each other in front of the goal," Har-Ber coach John Marshall said. "Evie was able to outmuscle some players and get in front of the goal."

Heritage had the early edge in shots on goal before Har-Ber started to take control midway through the first half. Har-Ber broke the scoreless tie when Cannon took a long pass from Makayla Davis and shot into the net with 3 minutes, 32 seconds left in the first half.

The halftime break didn't slow Har-Ber, which added two more goals to take a 3-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the second half.

Kianna Rutledge scored with 32:55 left before Cannon added a second goal with 27:40 left in the game. Megan Lamendola added another goal with 14:16 left to give the Lady Wildcats a commanding 4-0 lead.

Besides being shut out, Heritage (2-2, 1-2) had at least three starters leave the game because of injuries.
