Lincoln Woman Arrested in Murder-for-Hire Case

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Lincoln woman sits in jail and faces charges in connection with hiring a hit-man to kill her estranged husband.

Jamie Cianflone, 47, of 312 W. Pridemore Drive was arrested Monday in connection with felony conspiracy to commit capital murder. She was taken into custody by a detective at the Washington County Sheriff's Office about 11:30 a.m. Monday, and booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 3:20 p.m.

On Friday, Cianflone thought she was hiring a hit-man to kill her estranged husband who lives in Florida, but it was an undercover detective of the Sheriff's Office, according to an arrest report.

She told the detective that she could gain financially by killing her husband, according to the report. She also told him she wanted her estranged husband killed so brutally that, "his own mother would not be able to identify the body."

Cianflone agreed to pay $5,000 for the murder, according to the report.

Cianflone was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center without bond.

In another conspiracy case earlier this year, Shirley Ann Mugley, 41, of West Fork pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to commit capital murder, possession of a destructive device and criminal use of a prohibited weapon. She was sentenced to 40 years for all three charges at the Arkansas Department of Correction with 22 years suspended.

Police believe a divorce pushed Mugley to plan to kill her ex-husband, Michael. Mugley plotted to blow up her ex-husband with a homemade pipe bomb. An acquaintance backed out of attaching the bomb to Michael Mugley's car.
