Candace Laura Bailes and William Marcus Carpenter exchanged marriage vows at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the gazebo at Wildwood Park for the Arts. The Rev. Mark Evans of the Church at Rock Creek officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Vanessa and Neal Newell of Mabelvale. She is the granddaughter of Linda and Jerry Morgan of El Dorado.

Parents of the groom are W. David and the late Marilyn D. Carpenter of Hamburg. He is the grandson of Evelyn and W.H. Keen of Crossett.

The gazebo's stone pillars each held arrangements of roses, hydrangeas, lavender and dark purple stock.

The bride, given in marriage by her grandfather, wore an ivory organza gown with beaded lace appliques, an illusion neckline and ornately beaded sash. She carried a bouquet of roses, hydrangeas, lavender and lisianthus.

Caitlin Newell of Mabelvale, sister of the bride, and Tara Morgan of El Dorado, aunt of the bride, were honor attendants. They wore eggplant chiffon dresses with beading at the neckline and sashes at the waist.

Flower girl and train carrier were Lexie and Makenzie Morgan of El Dorado, cousins of the bride. Ring bearer was the bride's son, Logan Bailes of Maumelle.

Best man was the father of the groom. Roger Williams of Dickson, Tenn., served as a groomsman. Guests were seated by Brady Morgan, uncle of the groom, and Canon Morgan, cousin of the groom, both of El Dorado.

A reception in the south lobby of the park's theater followed the ceremony. Guest tables covered in white cloths held white candles in glass holders.

The bride completed two years of accounting and finance study at the University of Phoenix. She is a research analyst for Jackson Creek Investments, a private investment company.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Rochester, Eastman School of Music, and a master's degree in orchestral conducting from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He is a senior vice president of corporate development, director and co-founder of Energy Security Partners.

After a wedding trip to Paris and Montreux, Switzerland, the couple will live in Maumelle.
