Texas man dead, 2 injured in head-on collision

A Seagoville, Texas, man died late Thursday afternoon after a Kansas man lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into the car the man was driving, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatality report.

The report said Stephen R. Moyer, 62, of Lebo, Kan., was traveling east on Arkansas 12 in Benton County when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and crossed the centerline. Moyer's vehicle struck the vehicle driven by Floyd B. White Jr., 62, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

Tempa White of Seagoville, 61, a passenger in Floyd White's car, was injured along with Moyer. They were taken to a hospital, although their conditions were not immediately know known.

The road conditions were dry and the weather was clear at the time of the accident, the report said.

The accident resulted in the 327th fatality in a car crash recorded by the state police this year.

This week, state police also added a fatality report from February.

State police spokesman Bill Sadler said the report probably did not make it onto the state police's fatality website until this week because the agency did not receive the report from county sheriff's deputies until then.

On the afternoon of Feb. 5, Clay Goodwin was driving south on Pickles Gap Road in Faulkner County when his vehicle left the road, according to a preliminary fatality report.

Goodwin, 31, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The road conditions were dry and the weather was clear at the time of the accident, the report said.
