Lincoln man arrested on suspicion of child pornography

Fayetteville — A Lincoln man was being held in the Washington County Detention Center Wednesday following his arrest in connection with possession of child pornography, according to a report from the Sheriff's Office.

Edward McMahon, 61, of 612 County Ave., was taken into custody Tuesday morning. No bond has been set.

Special agents of U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and officers assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children task force executed a federal search warrant at McMahon's home, across the street from Lincoln Elementary School, according to the arrest report.

During his conversation with the a Washington County Sheriff's Office deputy, McMahon voluntarily admitted to dowloading and trading child pornography within a social media site called "VK.com," the report states. Within that site, McMahon would send and receive links directed to images and videos of child pornography. He admitted having about 250 videos of child pornography on his laptop computer, the report states.

During the execution of the search warrant, a forensic on-scene examination was conducted, revealing several videos of child pornography, according to the report.

Authorities confiscated two laptop computers, a thumb drive along with CDs and DVDs, the report stated.
