ROGERS -- Caroline Webb gave Springdale Har-Ber a big boost when the Lady Wildcats needed it most.

Har-Ber took a 2-1 lead to the fourth game against Rogers High on Tuesday night, but the Lady Mounties seemed to seize the momentum with a 6-0 opening run. Webb recorded three kills as Har-Ber matched Rogers with six-straight points and the Lady Wildcats went on to defeat the Lady Mounties 3-1 (24-26, 25-16, 25-16, 25-23) in a 7A-West Conference volleyball match in King Arena.

The win was a big one for Har-Ber (15-5-1) as it moves to 4-2 in the league while opening up a two-game lead over the Lady Mounties (8-7, 2-4).

"It's nice to win a conference game, and I am proud of them for that," Har-Ber coach Shyrah Schisler said.

Webb recorded all three of her kills as Har-Ber tied the fourth game at 6-6 and the two teams battled back-and-forth the rest of the way before Paige Williams had two key kills. Rogers led 22-20 late in the fourth game. Williams finished with 11 kills.

"Both Webb and Williams were strong and they had energy," Schisler said. "I like to see that. Paige played hard the whole night."

Rogers had four service errors in the final game as Har-Ber ended the fourth game with a 5-1 run, including taking advantage of the Lady Mounties fourth service error.

"We had momentum in the fourth set, but we kept missing serves," said Rogers coach Jeana Breedlove. "It really crushed our momentum. But we still had opportunities to win, but we didn't take advantage."

Rogers trailed 17-11 in the first game but rallied to post a 26-24 win. Emily Sherrill had several key kills to push the Lady Mounties to the early 1-0 lead. But Rogers couldn't battle back from early deficits in the second and third games as the Lady Wildcats took control.

Samantha Lassiter led Rogers with 10 kills while Sherrill added nine.

"We didn't bring our best game in the second and third games," Breedlove said.

While pleased with the win, Schisler said the Lady Wildcats will have to continue to improve to be a factor in the conference race.

"I'm not really happy with the way we played tonight," she said. "I thought our chemistry and intensity was not there. But a win is a win. We can move on and go work on the things that we didn't do well tonight. We have to learn to play, and stay, at a higher level."
