Bentonville High School, Hospital Team To Provide Vaccinations

BENTONVILLE -- The School District and Mercy Medical Center will give inoculations to Bentonville High School students who still need to be immunized.

Mercy's Mobile Clinic will be at the high school from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to vaccinate students. The clinic isn't free. Participants should bring insurance information and immunization records. Call Mercy at 888-338-3885 to make an appointment.

A new state law requires students be vaccinated against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis, meningococcal disease and varicella. The state considers students to be out of compliance with the law if they haven't been vaccinated by Oct. 1. Students face suspension from school until the requirements are met.

Questions about the law or immunization records should be addressed to the Benton County Health Unit at 479-986-1300.
