Volunteers Needed For Bentonville Tree Planting Blitz

BENTONVILLE -- City officials need volunteers to assist with the annual Tree Planting Blitz on Oct. 24.

The event will begin at 9 a.m., according to a news release.

More than 600 trees will be planted at 10 locations in Bentonville. The event is part of the "Keep Arkansas Beautiful/the fall Great Arkansas Cleanup" and national "NeighborWoods" month.

Volunteers are needed to help plant trees. Holes already will be dug, and the trees will be placed on site.

A tree planting expert will be available to assist volunteers. Lunch will be provided. For volunteer questions, contact Danielle Shasteen at 479-271-6826 or email [email protected].

Sponsors also are needed to assist with the purchase of the trees. There are several sponsorship packages available. For more information, contact Jon Stanley at 479-271-3126 or email [email protected].
