Three Arrested In Connection With Stabbing Near Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE -- Three people were arrested Thursday in connection with a stabbing at 2872 Rom Orchard Road.

Jeremiah Smith, 34, of 8220 Shepherd Hills Drive in Decatur was arrested in connection with felony second-degree battery and violation of probation or a suspended sentence, and misdemeanor third-degree battery.

Johnny Smith, 42, of 2872 Rom Orchard Road was arrested Thursday in connection with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a certain person and fleeing.

Shayleah Nipps, 18, of 2872 Rom Orchard Road was arrested Thursday in connection with felony tampering with physical evidence.

About 4 a.m., Stephen Bone, 32, was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center with a wound to his left arm, according to an arrest report. His injury wasn't life-threatening, according to the report.

A friend of Bone's told police the Smiths and Nipps got into a fight. Bone tried to stop it and was stabbed, according to the report.

Police found rifles, pistols, drugs and paraphernalia in the house.

All three were in the Washington County Detention Center. Jeremiah Smith was being held in lieu of a $7,500 bond, Johnny Smith on a $3,500 bond and Nipps on a $2,500 bond.
