Where I live: I live in the Stifft Station neighborhood of Little Rock with my husband, Will, our son, Liam, and our rescued dogs, Cleo and Bernie. We love our neighborhood because it is close to our workplaces and Liam's school. And we have great neighbors.

Occupation: I am the development director of Literacy Action of Central Arkansas.

My favorite space: Our front porch.

Why? It's a big, Craftsman-style porch and shaded by trees. We love being outside when the weather is nice. We'll move family and friends to the porch for a beer or glass of wine. There is plenty of space to sit and eat on the porch if we want. We have two comfy chairs, and I really enjoy sitting in my old baseball stadium seats with my legs kicked up on our found/salvaged coffee table. Our neighborhood is full of folks who walk a lot and when they see us outside, they join us on the porch for a visit. We love that there are lots of families with small children on our street and in the neighborhood. Our porch is definitely a people-watching and neighbor-talking porch.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Paint the brick exterior of the house a midnight blue and the trim white. I would paint the concrete porch a lighter shade of blue or gray and the front door as well.
