McDaniel checked in to LR hospital

Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel was taken to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences on Monday morning after he had an adverse "reaction to a new blood-pressure medication," a spokesman for his office said.

McDaniel, 42, who is nearing the end of his second term, was likely to be held overnight for observation, said Aaron Sadler, the spokesman.

"He was admitted to the hospital for observation, but he is doing well," Sadler wrote in an email. "He is busy making work phone calls and responding to e-mails and texts.

"He appreciates everyone's thoughts and concerns."
