Officer's arm shut in door during arrest

A North Little Rock man arrested Sunday is accused of injuring one police officer and threatening another, police reported.

Deshon Martin, 22, was booked into the Pulaski County jail Sunday on charges of second-degree battery, terroristic threatening and third-degree domestic battery, all felonies. He is also facing multiple misdemeanor charges, including resisting arrest, fleeing and disorderly conduct.

Police responded to 601 Parkdale St. in North Little Rock at 11 a.m. and saw Martin and a woman fighting outside of a residence, according to a police report. Police said Martin ran inside the home and slammed the front door on an officer's arm on the way in, causing injury.

Martin eventually went back outside and yelled obscenities while being placed under arrest, police said. On the way to the jail, he purportedly told an officer, "I'm going to get my family, and we're going to put you in the hospital."

The woman was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center with injuries to her head, face, neck and back.

As of Sunday evening, Martin was being held in lieu of bond.

Owner thrawts bid to steal motorcycle

A North Little Rock man was caught attempting to steal a motorcycle from a hotel parking lot Saturday, according to a police report.

At 11:30 p.m., police responded to La Quinta Inn, 4100 E. McCain Blvd. in North Little Rock, where 39-year-old Kenny Jones was being held in the lobby. Police were told that the owner of the motorcycle stopped and confronted Jones as he was backing it out of a parking space.

Police arrested Jones after watching video footage of him parking his own vehicle and getting on the motorcycle, which was valued at $25,000, according to the report.

Jones was booked into the Pulaski County jail on a felony charge of attempting to commit theft. He was no longer on the jail's roster Sunday evening.
