Police: West Fork Man Faces Charges After Stabbing, Beating Nephew

FAYETTEVILLE -- Police said a West Fork man faces charges after stabbing and beating his nephew.

Travis Johnson, 38, of 22 Cedar Drive in West Fork was arrested in connection with felony parole violation and second-degree battery.

His nephew, Wayne Johnson, 42, was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center for treatment on his swollen left elbow and his bloody mouth, according to an arrest report. He got nine stitches around his mouth.

Wayne Johnson told police that he and his uncle had met at the intersection of Lake Wilson Road and Boat Ramp Access Road to resolve issues between the two, according to the report.

When they approached one another, Travis Johnson pulled a razor knife out of his pocket and grabbed a wooden club with his other hand, and swung it at Wayne, hitting him in the elbow, according to the report. At some point during the altercation, Wayne Johnson was stabbed three times around his mouth with the razor knife.

Wayne Johnson's wife, Jessica, and his uncle witnessed the altercation, according to the report.

Travis Johnson was arrested at his home about 3:30 a.m.

He was being held Saturday in the Washington County Detention Center without bond.
