Rogers City Officials Seek Applicants To Serve On Arts Commission

ROGERS -- City officials are seeking resumes and letters of qualifications from residents interested in serving on the recently created Rogers Public Arts Commission.

Oct. 9 is the deadline for submissions, said Carey Anderson, assistant to the mayor.

Qualifications for services include interest or expertise in architecture, art history, design, fine art or a related area, Anderson said.

Commissioners will determine what art will be displayed on public property, according to the ordinance creating the commission.

There will be five voting members selected, and they must be approved by a two-thirds vote of the City Council. Four nonvoting advisers from city staff will also serve, Anderson said.

Three advisers will be chosen from the parks, planning and museum staffs, and the fourth will be from the Historic District Commission. The mayor will appoint the advisers.

Voting members will serve three-year terms, according to the ordinance.

Resumes and letters of qualifications can be emailed to [email protected], dropped off or mailed to City Hall, 301 W. Chestnut St.
