Two Arrested In Connection With 20 Stolen Guns Out Of Washington County

FAYETTEVILLE -- Two men were arrested Wednesday in connection with stealing 20 guns from a home in Washington County.

Nicholas Ramsey, 19, of 3060 Luper Road in Lowell was arrested in connection with felony theft by receiving.

Haylen Thomas, 19, of 5911 W. Tackett Drive in Fayetteville was arrested in connection with felony theft by receiving, possession of firearms by a certain prohibited person and probation violation.

Ramsey and Thomas were arrested at Thomas' home, according to an arrest report. The guns and a bone-handle knife were found at the house.

Ramsey told police he alone stole the guns and took them to store at Thomas' home, according to the report.

Thomas was convicted last year of theft by receiving and placed on probation. He was arrested Aug. 22 in connection with a probation violation and was in the Washington County Detention Center for seven days, according to the report.

A backpack of knives, three BB guns, two marijuana pipes, marijuana and alcohol were found in his room during Wednesday's arrest.

Police at two agencies said the investigation is continuing and wouldn't provide information about when and where the burglary happened.

Ramsey and Thomas were being held Thursday in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $3,500 bond each.
