ROGERS -- Rogers High was competitive with Bentonville early in Thursday's 7A-West Conference volleyball match in King Arena.

Then Bentonville senior Haley Seyfarth went to the service line. Bentonville outlasted the Lady Mounties in the first game with a 25-17 win and Seyfarth continued to help the Lady Tigers build momentum.

Seyfarth started the second game with two straight aces and Bentonville took a 4-0 lead en route to a 25-11 victory that jump started a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-11, 25-21) over the Lady Mounties.

The victory keeps Bentonville (10-2, 3-0 7A-West ) tied atop the conference standings with Fayetteville

"I told the girls it doesn't matter who you play in the 7A-West this year it can go either way," said Bentonville coach Michelle Smith said. "It's anybody's game on any given night. On the road, any win is a good win."

Bentonville had three of its seven aces in the second game as they built a 12-5 lead. Sadie Pate then had five kills to help push the lead to 19-5.

"In the second game we did a better job of getting the lead right away quickly," Smith said. "I have to give Rogers credit, they played with us in the first and third game. Rogers didn't let anything hit the floor and the ball kept coming back over the net."

Pate finished with 17 kills while Anna LeDuc added 13 kills. Seyfarth had 19 digs while Savannah King added 16 digs.

"Pate is one of our go-to players, and she has been doing a good job on the outside mixing up her hits," Smith said. "We are excited about how everybody played."

Rogers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third set and they led 11-7 after a kill by Shannon Orlopp. But two key blocks by Bentonville senior Lauren Bareis helped give the Lady Tigers a 19-17 lead as they pulled away for win.

"Lauren is our middle, she is a senior and she has been doing a great job between blocking and serving," Smith said. "She is a senior leader out there."

Samantha Lassiter and Emily Sherrill both had seven kills each for Rogers (7-5, 1-2) while Orlopp finished with six kills. Kimi Davis had 16 digs for the Lady Mounties.

"Bentonville is a very good team, and they just beat us" said Rogers coach Jeana Breedlove. "I moved my lineup around to try and put up a better defense at the net. We tried to stop everything we could at the net, but it still wasn't enough for us. We couldn't get anything going in the second game on defense or on offense."
