James Bynum, 52, was arrested Aug. 29 on a warrant, according to Scott County Circuit Court records. Bynum's attorney, William James of Little Rock, waived arraignment for Bynum and entered an innocent plea to the charges.

Bynum is accused of having sexual contact with two boys, beginning in 2003 in one case and around 2013 in the other.

In the first case, the boy, now 25, told an Arkansas State Police investigator in February that Bynum performed oral sex on him when he slept at the Bynum home, according to an arrest affidavit. He said it happened several times from ages 14-18.

Bynum also forced the boy to perform oral sex on him, the affidavit stated.

He told the investigator that Bynum tried unsuccessfully to have sexual contact with other boys.

In the second case, the boy told Waldron police in July that Bynum approached him at night when the boy slept at the Bynum home and would touch him sexually, according to the affidavit.

The boy said that at times he pretended to be asleep when Bynum touched him, according to the affidavit. Other times, he got up from the couch where he had been sleeping and went to another room, but sometimes Bynum would stop him from walking away, the affidavit stated.
