Shannon Williams, 58, of 1003 W. 33rd St., was at a "family cook out" at Crump Park at 800 W. 33rd St. and pulled out a pistol, fired it twice, and then pointed it at his 18-year-old nephew, Tyrone Williams, reports said.

According to arrest reports, officers arrested Williams at the park shortly after the gun was fired about 8:10 p.m. and took possession of the weapon.

Williams, who has a lengthy criminal history, including convictions for aggravated robbery, burglary and drug-related crimes, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as well as one count of aggravated assault on a family member, authorities said.

He was booked in the Pulaski County jail where he remained early Sunday night. No bail for his release had been set.

Police: Man at clubpunched LR officer

A Little Rock officer was hit in the face during a disorderly conduct call Sunday morning.

Police responded to a call at the Electric Cowboy, located at 9515 Interstate 30, about 4 a.m. to handle an intoxicated individual, according to arrest reports, and approached a man later identified as Jimmy Glenn.

According to reports, Glenn hit one of the officers in the nose, causing it to bleed, and was taken into custody shortly after.

Glenn, 45, of Benton, was charged with second-degree battery, a Class D felony and one punishable by up to six years in prison, as well as disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Glenn was taken to the Pulaski County jail and booked in, but officers noted that he was too intoxicated and too combative to give a thumb print on his arrest report.

He remained at the county jail late Sunday where he was being held in lieu of $10,600 bond.
