• President Barack Obama and his family took time out to attend the wedding of the first family's longtime chef and friend, Sam Kass, to MSNBC host Alex Wagner at a restaurant in Pocantico Hills, N.Y.

• Laurie Holloway, a spokesman for the Dallas Zoo, said no animals were affected when a pickup veered off a nearby road and flipped onto the property at the zoo, although the crash did cause minor damage to the zoo's hospital.

• Cody King, a father of three from Franklin, Tenn., created a smartphone app called Remember the Kids that reminds parents not to leave their children in a hot car by sending out an automatic alert asking, "Did you remember the kids?" when a driver stops for at least three minutes.

• Paul Hollis, a former challenger of Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., filed a lawsuit against the senator, contending that she cannot represent Louisiana because she lives full time in Washington, D.C., although she is registered to vote in Louisiana, using the New Orleans address where her parents live.

• Jeff White, 32, of Mississippi has filed a complaint alleging that a teacher at a church-run school sexually abused him in the 1990s in an attempt to change his sexual orientation from homosexuality.

• Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran's foreign minister, said he is ready to meet his Saudi Arabian counterpart, Saud al-Faisal, on the sidelines of this month's U.N. General Assembly and to visit the Persian Gulf nation later this year.

• Carmela Panico, 52, a former exotic dancer and owner of several bikini coffee stands in Washington state, was charged with promoting prostitution and money laundering, after police said her baristas were also selling sex acts.

• Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, the prime minister of Thailand, appointed 11 active or retired senior military officials with no political experience to key Cabinet posts, including as the ministers of justice, education, defense, transport, commerce and foreign affairs.

• Andrew Leconte, 27, who police said is a U.S. marshal, was arrested after reportedly brandishing a gun while drunk on a Burbank, Calif., street.

• Sgt. Joel Davila of the Liberty County, Texas, sheriff's office said two men impersonating sheriff's deputies robbed a home where authorities previously searched for drugs, stealing a suitcase containing about $6,000 and two guns.
