Benton police arrested a man Monday on three charges of rape, according to a statement from the Benton Police Department.
Police responded to reports of a possible rape about midnight Sunday. The victim was a girl younger than 16, according to the statement.
Manuel Portillo, 51, of Benton was identified as the suspect and arrested, police spokesman Lt. Kevin Russell said.
Investigators found that there may have been another underage victim. According to the statement, Portillo and the victims were acquaintances.
Portillo was booked into Saline County jail. He remained on the roster late Monday, and his bail had not been set.
Police continued to investigate and were asking anyone with information to call the Police Department at (501) 778-1171.
