Rogers High School's Homecoming Celebrated Friday

Homecoming will be celebrated at Rogers High School on Friday when the Mountaineers take on the Fort Smith's Southside High School Rebels.

This year's homecoming court was chosen by the Mountie football team and student body. The queen was nominated by the football team and elected by the student body.

The 2014 homecoming queen is Rachel Young, daughter of Michelle and Jeff Young. She will be escorted by Trenton Lukassen, son of Penny and John Lukassen.

Those representing the senior class are Evelyn Gonzalez, the daughter of Lilia and Sergio Gonzalez, escorted by Darrion Gentry, son of Melissa and Cameron Lindsey; Brigette Daniel, daughter of Laura Daniel and Stephen Daniel, escorted by Austin Ayson, son of Dr. Angela Ayson and John Ortiz; Carli Mareth, daughter of the late Lori and Bo Swearingen and Pat and Donetta Mareth, escorted by Billy Treacy, son of Marjorie and Bill Treacy; and Ashlyn Dunham, daughter of Brenda and Bobby Dunham, escorted by Townsend Wenzler, son of Sarah Van Vleck and Chris Wenzler.

Representing the junior class are Taylor Reese, the daughter of Stephanie Reese-Hollingsworth and Dan Hollingsworth and David and Scarlett Reese, escorted by Nathan Seldomridge, son of C.J. and Tim Seldomridge; Taylor Coberly, daughter of Mindy and Cody Coberly, escorted by Josh Stewart, son of Cheryl and Steve Stewart; and Sabra Ivey, the daughter of Becky and Mike Ivey, escorted by Marek Swieter, son of Kim Swieter.

Representing the sophomore class are Michelle Morales, daughter of Maria and Jesus Morales, escorted by Jeb Brain, son of Kelly and Jay Brain; Jessica Wallace, daughter of Eujeanie and Kurt Luker and Tony and Sheila Wallace, escorted by Jonathon Chance O'Connor, son of Tim O'Connor; Hannah Lueders, daughter of Dr. Jamie and Cynthia Lueders, escorted by Rhett Wallace, son of Eujeanie and Kurt Luker and Tony and Sheila Wallace.

Freshman maid Molly Rebecca Thompson, daughter of Rebecca and Thad Curtis and Heath and Mandy Thompson, will be escorted by Aaron Lockhart, son of Valerie and Mitch Lockhart. Jane Duru Townzen, daughter of Heather and Derek Townzen, will be escorted by Andrew McGlynn, son of Cindy and Mike McGlynn. Nori Bunch, daughter of Naomi and Darek Bunch, will be escorted by Auguste Moisson, son of Bridget and Jim Moisson.

Serving as crown bearer will be Janessa Katherine Ferguson, daughter of Jessica Ferguson-Mesias and Brian Mesias and LaTroy Wakefield. Janessa's grandmother teaches Spanish at Rogers High School. Football bearer will be John Sullivan, son of Elizabeth and Trent Sullivan. John's mother is an academic facilitator at Rogers High School.

The homecoming assembly will begin at 2:10 p.m. Friday in the W.E. King Gymnasium at the school. The parade will be held in downtown Rogers at 3:45 p.m. Young's coronation will be at 7 p.m. on the field at Whitey Smith Stadium.
