Only one lane in each direction will be open this weekend on Interstate 49 between Springdale and Lowell in Benton County, according to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
Crews have been widening 2.6 miles of I-49 between Wagon Wheel Road and Arkansas 264. As the work is nearing completion, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, placing traffic on the new inside lane.
Travel lanes will be reduced beginning at 8:30 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday, weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.
