Gray Right Choice In Fayetteville

Gray Right Choice In Fayetteville

In the runoff election for Ward 1 in Fayetteville, there is one obvious choice for voters who care about the future of our city: Adella Gray. Alderwoman Gray has served honorably on the city council for these past eight years and is a long-time resident of our great city. She knows the nature and values of Fayetteville and has worked hard to be a listener.

In front of almost every major vote, Mrs. Gray cites the concerns that her constituents have brought before her through calls, emails and conversations. She is a listener who puts the opinions of constituents and businesses in her ward above all other interests. This is a trait of high value in politics and one that voters should reward with another term on the council.

Adella's opponent is a hard line conservative who does not reflect the progressive values of south Fayetteville, a growing, vibrant and diverse part of our great city. His article that has drawn much attention from the news media, mocking the satirical plight of "The Life of Julia the Pathetic Loser," demonstrates a lack of compassion that is needed to be an effective representative for all citizens in government. Why should the voters of Fayetteville choose this bombastic ideologue when they can pick the measured, experienced voice of Adella Gray?

I moved here in 2005, like so many others, to attend the University of Arkansas. I stayed here after graduating and live here because of the incredible community we have in Northwest Arkansas, thanks in large part to leaders like Alderwoman Adella Gray and Mayor Lioneld Jordan. They are voices for compassion, reason and the responsible growth of a city that respects diversity, fosters inclusion and empowers all citizens to pursue life, liberty and happiness. Let's keep these voices in city government and re-elect Adella Gray on Nov. 25.
