FAYETTEVILLE -- Three people were arrested Friday night after a woman found her scooter being loaded into a horse trailer, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

Ruben Litterell, 27, of 3389 Madison Road in Wesley was arrested in connection with felony theft of property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The passengers in his truck were also arrested.

Alexandra Lethiot, 24, of 621 N. Main St. in Mulberry was arrested in connection with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and Melissa Palmatier, 26, of 610 Tenbury Lane in Bella Vista was arrested in connection with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, and one count of felony possession of drug paraphernalia, according to arrest reports.

The scooter is equipped with a GPS tracking device, and the owner received an alert it was missing, according to police. The device led the owner to find the scooter in the parking lot of Tyson Foods, 2231 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The owner went to that location and watched as it was being loaded into a horse trailer pulled behind a white truck, according to police. The owner then followed the truck for about two miles and called police.

The truck was pulled over at the intersection of Cato Springs Road and Florida Way, according to police. Litterell, Lethiot and Palmatier were detained while the truck was searched.

A methamphetamine pipe was found behind a seat, according to the reports. Palmatier later told police Lethiot hid it.

Four and a half carisoprodol pills, one methadone and a marijuana pipe were in Palmatier's purse, according to the report.

All three were being held Saturday in the Washington County Detention Center. Litterell was being held in lieu of a $7,500 bond, Lethiot in lieu of a $5,000 bond and Palmatier in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
