Sunflower Club

The Kansas Sunflower Club will meet for Thanksgiving dinner at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 24 in the community room at Village Insurance in Bella Vista.

Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy will be prepared by Papa Mike's at a charge of $3 per person. Those attending are asked to bring a salad, vegetable or dessert.

Entertainment will be provided by Roy Clark.

All former Kansas residents are invited to the club meetings. There are no dues.

Lions Club

The Bella Vista Lions Club will meet at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday for a dinner buffet meeting at Concordia Retirement Center's main building, 1 Concordia Drive. Molly Dillon of the Bella Vista Hearing Center will speak on the latest hearing technologies.

All guests are welcome to attend. An optional dinner buffet is offered for $9.

Senior Democrats of Northwest Arkansas will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Western Sizzlin', 3492 Sunset Ave. in Springdale. Speaker will be Robert McAfee, chairman of the Environmental Caucus of the Arkansas Citizens First Congress.

Ladies Day Out

Ladies Day Out will car pool to Joplin, Mo., at 11 a.m. Tuesday. They will meet in the parking lot across from Town Center Arvest Bank, have lunch at Cheddar's and then go to Sandstone Gardens to see the fall and Christmas decorations.

Hiking Club

Hill N Dale Hiking Club of Bella Vista will be traveling to Hobbs State Park on Wednesday to hike some of the trails. Members will meet at Harps upper parking lot in Bella Vista at 8:30 a.m. Nonmembers are invited.

Quilts of Love

Granny's Quilts of Love will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis St. in Pea Ridge. They will be cutting more quilt kits.

The Christmas brunch will be held at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 9 at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1900 Forest Hills Blvd. Bring an inexpensive gift ($5 to $10) for the Santa game. Reservations: (479) 855-6903 by Dec. 3.

The Bella Vista Woodcarvers Club will not have their regular meeting Nov. 27; Riordan Hall will be closed for Thanksgiving.

The Bella Vista Woodcarvers Club regularly meets from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays. Visitors and anyone interested in carving is welcome to attend.

Photographers

The Photographic Society of Northwest Arkansas will hold a photography garage sale at its Gallery and Studios, 126 W. Emma Ave. in Springdale, from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The sale is open to the public. Sale items will include any kind of photography-related equipment, from cameras to photography books.

Republicans

The Washington County Republican Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Courtyard Marriott, 600 E. Van Asche Drive in Fayetteville. After a brief business meeting, the group will view the movie "America the Movie" based on the book "America, Imagine a World Without Her." Members are encouraged to bring guests.

Retired Teachers

The Washington County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Magnuson Grand Hotel (the former Clarion Inn) in Fayetteville.

Local author Brenda Hancock will present the program "One of the Lucky Ones" based on her book by that title about her mother, Nicole Holland, who survived the Holocaust by becoming a French resistance fighter. Holland will attend the meeting also to answer questions personally.

Members need to bring items for the CEO drive and children's books for the Christmas book drive.

Checks for $12 for the buffet lunch need to be made out to WCRTA.

Master Naturalists

Northwest Arkansas Master Naturalists will host an information table at the Fayetteville Farmers Market from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 22. There will be an educational display and members on hand to discuss how to become a Master Naturalist. Gift certificates for the Master Naturalist training program will be available for those wishing to give the gift of nature this holiday season.

Late Bloomers

The Late Bloomers Garden Club of Garfield will meet at the Lost Bridge Village community room at 10 a.m. Monday. Guest speaker will be Dot Neely with the Beaver Lake Water District, and her topic will be "Beaver Lake and Watershed: Source Water Protection with Rain Gardens and Native Plants."

Republicans

Benton County Republican Women will meet Tuesday at Golden Corral at 2605 Pleasant Crossing Drive in Rogers. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., and the general meeting begins at noon.

Speaker will be Doug Thompson, political reporter and enterprise editor for Northwest Arkansas Newspapers. He will give his thoughts on what the results of the November election will mean for the state and nation.

The women meet the third Tuesday of each month, and attendance is open to anyone. Men are invited to attend as well.

Pieces N Patches

Pieces N Patches will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 S. 26th St. in Rogers. They will be working on and filling the Christmas stockings to be given to Home Instead to share with seniors that are home bound.

Bring a dish to share for lunch. Participants may work on their own project. Bring items for show and tell and canned food for the church grocery cart.
