Tebow headlines banquet

Circle of Life Hospice supporters returned to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville on Nov. 8 for the second annual Art of Hospice. The evening saw a sold-out crowd of more than 200 guests and yielded some $250,000 for the nonprofit organization.

Guests at a VIP reception sponsored by the Miller McNeill Woodruff Foundation preceding the dinner were treated to an insider's tour led by Chad Alligood, Crystal Bridges assistant curator, of the museum's "State of the Art" exhibition.

The nonprofit organization presented the Bernice Young Jones Award to Jeretta and Horace Hardwick. The award is given in memory of the late philanthropist and is given to those "deserving recognition and honor for having helped us grow, live, work and serve peacefully and together."

Those out for an evening of art with hospice included Melba Shewmaker, Pat Walker, Meredith Woodruff, Rhonda Woodruff, Angie Woodruff, Jim Blount, Sarah and Don Kendall, Sheryl and Ron Chomiuk, John and Dee Lea and Sue and David Van Bebber.

From one museum to another, the next stop of the evening was The Hive at 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville for the Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner. Benefiting the James Beard Foundation, the multicourse meal featured culinary craftings from chefs Matt McClure, The Hive; Case Dighero, Eleven at Crystal Bridges; William Lyle, Eleven at Crystal Bridges; and Rob Nelson, Tusk and Trotter.

The foundation's mission is to "celebrate, nurture and honor America's diverse culinary heritage through programs that educate and inspire."

Friends of the foundation feasting included Alice Walton, Phyllis Wyeth, Mimi Abel Smith, Stacy and Rod Bigelow, Kelli and Scott Eccleston, Debbie and Greg Matteri, Fred and Shannon Bedore, Kassie Misiewicz and Daniel Hintz, Kris Moon, foundation director of charitable giving and strategic partnerships, and Marilyn Platzer, chief financial and chief operating officer.

The Loving Choices Pregnancy Centers of Northwest Arkansas annual benefit banquet Tuesday evening at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale featured Pam Tebow as its special guest speaker. The event enjoyed sold-out attendance and brought in $307,000 for the nonprofit organzation.

Those joining the center for the banquet included Dawn and Eric Pianalto, Nancy and Henry Ho, Gwen and Tom Rockwood, Susan Duke, Sister Anita DeSalvo and Holly Hook.
