No change in vote for Crossett mayor

CROSSETT -- A recount in the race for Crossett mayor Wednesday found no change from the Election Day count.

Mayoral candidate Valerie Martin said she requested the recount because she lost by just a 16-vote margin to incumbent Mayor Scott McCormick.

The votes were recounted Wednesday morning at the Ashley County Courthouse by election commissioners Tommy Hooks and Jane Johnson, along with Ashley County Clerk Genie Kersten.
