Sam Pittman, Arkansas' offensive line coach, communicates with coaches in the press box on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 during the game against Louisiana-Lafayette at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman visited the school of one of Georgia's top prospects, Brandon Sandifer, about a week ago and is trying to get the offensive lineman to visit Fayetteville.

"I like them. I think they're a pretty good school," said Sandifer, who attends Warner Robins Northside. "I'm interested in seeing what the campus is like and meeting the coaches."

Sandifer, 6-4, 330 pounds, 5.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash, has more than 20 scholarship offers from schools that include Arkansas, Alabama, Florida State, South Carolina, Louisville and Ohio State. He said he and his father plan to talk about a possible visit to Arkansas this summer.

He already has some schools in mind for visits.

"South Carolina, I might go to Vanderbilt," said Sandifer, who is rated the No. 42 prospect in Georgia by ESPN. "I think my dad is going to take me to Nebraska."

Pittman and Sandifer spoke earlier in the week and touched on several tropics, including basketball. Sandifer, who can dunk, averaged about 11 points and 10 rebounds while playing center for his high school team.

Sandifer also does well in the classroom and has a 3.6 grade-point average.

"I think I want to be some type of engineer," he said.

He said he plans to narrow down his growing list of schools this summer to five.

"I'm going to take official visits to the five schools," Sandifer said.

Sandifer said proximity will be a factor in his decision, but he said he also is looking for a family atmosphere and a friendly coaching staff.

WAITING GAME

Arkansas hasn't extended an offer to Aurora (Colo.) Regis Jesuit offensive lineman Tim Lynott, but he is on the radar.

Lynott, 6-3, 297 pounds, 4.90, has scholarship offers from Colorado, Miami, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Kansas State and others. He and Arkansas graduate assistant Eric Mateos have been communicating.

"I thought they were going to offer, but they haven't yet," Lynott said. "I don't know where I stand, but I've been talking to Coach Mateos. We've been in contact quite a bit, actually. We've been talking on a regular basis through social media and mail."

The would be the first SEC team to offer Lynott.

"That would be awesome to get an offer from the SEC," Lynott said. "It would be cool to get one from them too because I've heard a lot of good things about the program and they have a great football team. It would be awesome to play in Razorback Stadium. It looks like a great environment to play in."

Arkansas signed starting offensive tackle Dan Skipper out of Colorado in 2013.

"He use to play for Ralston Valley," Lynott said. "We played them like twice. He's a good player, a really good player."

ESPN rates Lynott the No. 2 prospect in Colorado, the nation's No. 24 offensive guard and the No. 265 overall recruit. He has impressive strength with a 330-pound bench press, a 450-pound squat and a 270-pound power clean.

"I'm looking for the perfect place for me for the next four years of my life," said Lynott, who has a 3.1 grade-point average and is considering business management as a major. "I'm looking for great coaches, great fans, pretty much an overall great environment."

END WILL VISIT

Defensive end Jeremiah Ledbetter of Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College said he plans to take an official visit to Arkansas this summer.

Ledbetter, 6-4, 265 pounds, 4.72, has seven scholarship offers but favors Arkansas, Florida, Georgia and Miami.

2 EARN OFFERS

Two in-state sophomores received scholarship offers Thursday morning.

Louisville offered Star City defensive lineman Austin Capps, 6-3 1/2, 307 pounds, 5.1, and Prairie Grove tight end Dylan Soehner, 6-7, 260, received an offer from Louisiana Tech.

Capps received an offer from Arkansas last June after taking part in the Razorbacks' camp. It was Soehner's first offer.
