• Singer Gregg Allman was sued Wednesday along with movie producers, a railroad company and others accused of being responsible for the February death of a young camera assistant when a freight train slammed into a film crew in southeast Georgia. The lawsuit filed in Chatham County State Court by the parents of 27-year-old Sarah Jones targets 10 individuals associated with the film Midnight Rider, based on the Allman Brothers Band singer's memoir. It also goes after eight corporations, including CSX Transportation, which owns the railroad tracks where the crash occurred, and Rayonier Performance Fibers, a subsidiary of forest-products manufacturer Rayonier that owns the land surrounding the crash site. Also included were director Randall Miller, his production company Unclaimed Freight Productions and several of Miller's assistants on the film along with companies assisting with the production.

• A Fox News weekend anchorman who was arrested after he purportedly became combative with police at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport may have taken a drug that didn't mix well with alcohol, a police report released Thursday suggests. Gregg Jarrett, 59, was arrested Wednesday after police were called to the Northern Lights Grill in the airport's main terminal on a report of a customer who was "acting very intoxicated," the report said. Jarrett was taken to a holding cell for possible detoxification and evaluation, and while there he became agitated and began struggling with police. Officers found gabapentin pills in his pocket. A search of Jarrett's bag showed that he was just released from an alcohol and chemical dependency treatment facility, the report said. Jarrett was charged with one count of obstructing the legal process/interfering with a peace officer.
