I-40 stop nets 217 pounds of marijuana

A truck driver has been arrested after the Arkansas Highway Police confiscated 217 pounds of marijuana from his tractor-trailer, highway officials said Friday.

Xiao Jun Duan, 46, of Arcadia, Calif., was stopped about 3:30 a.m. Friday at the eastbound Interstate 40 highway police inspection station, where officers found the drugs stored in seven boxes inside the truck’s sleeper cab, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said in a statement.

Duan is being held at the Crawford County jail in Van Buren.
