A Monday night motorcycle accident has left a Franklin County man dead, the Arkansas State Police said.

Justin Barham, 37, of Branch was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Arkansas 23 just south of the Franklin County line at Ozark when he tried to negotiate a curve, left the highway and hit a fence, a preliminary state police accident report states. It happened just before 11 p.m. Monday, according to the report.

State police said the road was dry and the weather clear at the time of the accident.

Barham's death marks the 131st death in traffic accidents on state roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures by the state police.
