Motorcycle crash on I-40 kills man

An Oklahoma man died Saturday after he was thrown from his motorcycle in Faulkner County, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality accident report.

James Harwell, 49, was driving east on Interstate 40 near Arkansas 65 on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle about 9:10 a.m. when he ran off the highway, state police said. Harwell ran into cable guards and was thrown from the motorcycle, state police said.

Harwell, of Sallisaw, Okla., was taken to Conway Regional Hospital, where he died just after 12:10 p.m., state police said.
