Lead Hill chooses school chief from 3

The Lead Hill School Board has hired Joe Hulsey, superintendent of the Ozark Mountain School District, to succeed John Davidson as Lead Hill superintendent, School Board President Troy Burleson said.

Davidson is retiring after 40 years in education, and his last day is June 30. Davidson said he was a retired deputy director for the Department of Career Education when he became the superintendent of Lead Hill in November 2012.

The superintendent vacancy in Lead Hill drew 17 applicants, and the School Board interviewed three, Burleson said.

Hulsey, who is set to start July 1, will earn an annual salary of $85,000 on a two-year contract, Burleson said.
