WASHINGTON -- Rep. Tommy Robinson, D-Ark., admits he made a mistake. Such an admission is rare. When a reporter from the Arkansas Gazette called Robinson to ask about the $60,000 annual salary his 22-year-old administrative assistant makes, Robinson replied, "It is none of your business who I hire or what I pay them." Some of Robinson's constituents took that comment to mean it was none of their business what he paid Charlotte Jones, the daughter of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Her salary comes out of the taxpayers' pocketbook. "I meant it was none of the Gazette's business," Robinson said. "Of course, it is my constituents' business how I spend the taxpayers' money. In retrospect, I realized I should have done a better job telling them about Charlotte's background. I should have explained that she is highly educated and has traveled all over the world."
