Tuesday, May 13, 2014

The Little Rock Film Festival is partnering with the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service to offer screenings of documentary films Saturday that deal with pressing international and humanitarian issues.

At 12:30 p.m. Saturday, viewers can see Point and Shoot, in which two-time Academy Award nominated documentary filmmaker Marshall Curry tells a harrowing and sometimes humorous story of a young man's struggle for political revolution and personal transformation.

At 3:15 p.m. Saturday, the film Life After Death will be screened. The tale features Rwandan best friends in their early 20s, trying to navigate life in the wake of a genocide.

At 5:45 p.m. Saturday, viewers can see Virunga, a true story of a group of brave individuals risking their lives to save Africa's oldest national park in the midst of renewed civil war and a scramble for the region's natural resources.

All films screened at Sturgis Hall are free and open to the public. Seats can be reserved by emailing [email protected] or by calling (501) 683-5239.
