FAYETTEVILLE -- No bomb was found after police searched an elementary school Friday morning in response to a threat.

A student at Washington Elementary School found "I am going to blow this place up" written on a boys' bathroom stall about 8 a.m., according to police records. Students and staff evacuated shortly afterward to Central United Methodist Church about a block to the south.

A police dog searched the school and found nothing dangerous, Cpl. Dan Montgomery said. No arrests were made.

Washington Elementary School sits a block north of West Dickson Street, about four blocks from the University of Arkansas.

Schools throughout Northwest Arkansas have received at least 18 bomb threats this year. Students as young as 12 have been charged with felonies in connection with some of those threats.
