Child killed, 5 hurt in wreck on bridge

A 12-year-old child was killed in Little Rock early Thursday in a single-vehicle crash on the Interstate 430 bridge over the Arkansas River, state police reported.

Raphael Skinner Jr. of Mayflower was a passenger in a 2004 Chevrolet traveling south on the bridge. The vehicle left the right side of the roadway about 3 a.m. and crashed, tossing out Raphael.

Five other people -- including four children between the ages of 3 and 6 -- were injured. They were taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital. Raven Brown, 4, was in critical condition at the hospital late Thursday.

State police reported that conditions were clear and dry when the crash occurred.

Further details were unavailable.
