Boston Mountain Fire Department Seeks New Chief

The Boston Mountain Fire Department is looking for a new chief.

The volunteer department covers portions of southern Washington County roughly between West Fork and Lake Fort Smith. It has about two dozen volunteers. The chief also would be a volunteer.

The position was recently vacated because of J.R. Wood's retirement, according to a notice of the opening. Applicants should be at least 21, have no felony convictions and have experience in public service, according to the notice.
