Fayetteville's Annual Dogwood Walk Set For Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE -- The Humane Society of the Ozarks' annual Dogwood Walk is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Gulley Park, 1850 E. Township St.

The event gives residents an opportunity to show off their pooches while raising money for the nonprofit organization, which advocates for the humane treatment of animals.

Various veterinarians and pet vendors are scheduled to attend. Microchipping services will be available. An awards ceremony is set for 11:45 a.m. Categories include best-dressed dog and best dog trick.

Registration for the event is $20 for Humane Society of the Ozarks members and $25 for nonmembers. The registration fee includes lunch and a T-shirt. Companion passes for family members or friends are available for $5.

Goody bags with gourmet treats, food samples, toys and coupons can be purchased for an additional $15.

The city's Ranger's Pantry Pet Food Bank will be accepting donations of dry cat and dog food during the event.
